Iran Has Enough Materials for One Atom Bomb: Report
Iran has now processed enough nuclear material to manufacture, with some purification, at least one atomic weapon, according to experts analyzing the latest report from global inspectors.

The figures detailing Iran's progress were contained in a routine update on Wednesday from the International Atomic Energy Agency, the International Herald Tribune reported. The agency has been conducting inspections of the country's main nuclear plant at Natanz.

In a report written earlier this month, IAEA inspectors concluded Iran had manufactured 630 kilograms, or about 1,390 pounds, of low-enriched uranium.

Still, experts cautioned that there are more steps necessary in order for Iran to build a weapon. First, Tehran's nuclear scientists would have to further purify the fuel and fashion it into a warhead – steps the West is unsure Iran is able to complete.

Iran would also have to expel atomic inspectors as well, IHT reported.

"They clearly have enough material for a bomb," Richard Garwin, a top nuclear physicist who helped invent the hydrogen bomb and has advised Washington for decades, told the paper. "They know how to do the enrichment. Whether they know how to design a bomb, well, that's another matter."
